I. OBJECTIVE
To promote contact between stations in Turkiye (TA) and stations worldwide, and to maximize communication with different regions of Turkiye.
II. BANDS
Only the following six bands may be used (CW/SSB):
Only the following five bands may be used (RTTY):
III.EXCHANGE
A. SSB:
RS signal report + CQ Zone number
Example: 59 20
B. CW:
RST signal report + CQ Zone number
Example: 599 20
C.RTTY:
RST signal report + CQ Zone number
Example: 599 20
IV. SCORING
A. Final Score Formula:
Final Score = Total QSO points × (Total Zone multipliers + Country multipliers)
Example: 1000 QSO points * (30 Zones + 70 Countries) = 100,000 (final score).
B. QSO Points:
The competition scoring system has a hierarchical structure that rewards finding and communicating with TA stations over long distances. Each valid QSO is scored according to the following order of priority.
3 points for QSOs with stations on a different continent.
1 point for QSOs with stations in the same country.
1 point for QSOs with stations in the same country.
For stations outside Türkiye, any QSO with a station using a TA,*TA1, TB, TC, or YM prefix is worth 5 points.
TA ↔ TA = 1 point for both stations
DL ↔ TA = 5 points for DL, 3 points for TA
DL ↔ *TA1 = 5 points for DL, 2 points for *TA1 (since they are in the same continent)
JA ↔ TA = 5 points for JA, 2 points for TA
JA ↔ *TA1 = 5 points for JA, 3 points for *TA1 (since they are on different continents)
DL ↔ F = 2 points
DL ↔ DL = 1 point
C.Multipliers:
Two types of multipliers are counted per band:
a.Zone Multiplier: Each different CQ Zone contacted per band counts as one multiplier.
b.Country Multiplier: Each different DXCC country contacted per band counts as one multiplier.
V.ENTRY CATEGORIES
A. Single Operator:
All operating and logging is done by one person; no limits on operating time or band changes; only one signal can be transmitted at a time. .(See VII. Definitions)
a. Single Operator Assisted: Use of QSO-finding assistance is allowed.
1. High Power: All Band or Single Band: max 1.500 W
2. Low Power: All Band or Single Band: max 100 W
3. QRP: All Band or Single Band: max 5 W
B. Single Operator All Band 24 Hours:
Only the first 24 hours of operational time is eligible for
scoring. Any continuous period of 60 minutes or more during which no QSO is logged is considered as
off-time, and off-time is not counted as operational time. If the log shows more than 24 hours of
operation, only the first 24 hours of operational time will be counted for the score.Use of QSO-finding assistance is allowed.(See VII.
Definitions)
1. High Power: All Band: max 1.500 W
2. Low Power: All Band:max 100 W
3. QRP: All Band: max 5 W
**Note: Stations entering the Single Operator All Band 24 Hours category must select CATEGORY TIME: 24-HOURS when uploading their Cabrillo logs via the contest website.
C. Single Operator Overlay Categories:
Eligible “Single Operator” participants may enter one of the following additional categories by adding the appropriate “CATEGORY-OVERLAY” line in the Cabrillo log header. These are scored as All Band and are divided as “High Power” and “Low Power”, including QRP
d. Young Operator (YOUTH): Operators aged 25 or younger at the start of the contest. Birth year must be entered in the SOAPBOX field; the date of birth will be verified during log submission. Young participants can only participate as a single operator.
e. Rookie (ROOKIE): The operator was first licensed as a radio amateur less than three (3) years before the date of the contest. Indicate the date first licensed in the SOAPBOX field. Previous Rookie winners are not eligible for plaques in this category.
F. Multi-Operator Categories (All Bands Operation Only):
Any number of operators is allowed. QSO finding assistance is allowed. Only one transmitted signal per band is permitted at any time.
1. Multi-Single: Only one transmitted signal on one band permitted during any 10-minute period (run station/signal). Exception: One — and only one — other transmitted signal (multiplier station/signal) may be used during any 10-minute period, if — and only if — it is on a different band from the run transmitter and the station worked is a new multiplier. The run and multiplier transmitters are governed by independent 10-minute rules. Ten-minute periods begin with the first QSO on a band. The log must indicate which station/signal (run or multiplier) made each QSO. The multiplier station/signal may not call CQ (solicit contacts).
a. High Power: Total output power must not exceed 1500 watts on any band at any time.
b. Low Power: Total output power must not exceed 100 watts on any band at any time.
2. Multi-Two: A maximum of two transmitted signals may be used at any time, and they must be on two different bands. The log must indicate which station/signal made each QSO. Logged QSOs are to be used to count band changes. Each station/signal may make a maximum of 8 band changes in any clock hour (00 through 59 minutes). Total output power must not exceed 1500 watts on any band at any time.
3. Multi-Multi: The six contest bands may be activated simultaneously. Only one transmitted signal per band is permitted at any time. Total output power must not exceed 1500 watts on any band at any time.
G. Check log:
Entry submitted to assist with the log checking. The entry will not have a score in the results and the
log will not be made public.
VI.AWARDS
Single-band logs are only eligible for single-band awards. Logs with multiple bands are evaluated as All Band unless specified otherwise.
A. Certificates: Electronic certificates are issued for all participants based on ranking and can be downloaded from the contest website. The issued electronic certificates can be delivered in printed form by mail or in person to the call sign with the log uploaded, if requested and deemed appropriate by the competition committee, provided the specified contribution/financial support amount is met. (Certificates are issued only to the call sign with the log uploaded, not to operators working for groups, associations, or collective participants.)
B. Plaques: Plaques can be awarded to the winners in sponsored categories. (Certificates are issued
only to the call sign holder with the log, not to operators working for groups, associations, or
collective participants).
VII.DEFINITIONS
A. Location of Station:
The location of all transmitters, receivers, and antennas: all transmitters, receivers, and amplifiers must be within a 500-meter diameter circle. Antennas must be physically connected to transmitters and receivers via RF transmission lines.
B. QSO-finding Assistance:
Any technology or resource that provides an operator with call sign or multiplier information of a signal falls under this scope. These include:
- CW decoders, RTTY decoders
- DX cluster and DX spotting websites (e.g., DX Summit)
- Local or remote call sign/frequency encoding technologies (e.g., CW Skimmer, RTTY Skimmer, Reverse Beacon Network)
- Coordination arrangements with other parties.
C. Remote station:
1. Remote operation is permitted if the physical location of all transmitters, receivers, and antennas are at one station location. A remotely operated station must obey all station license, operator license, and category limitations. The call sign used must be one issued or permitted by the Regulatory Authority of the station location.
2. Remote receivers outside of the station location are not permitted.
VIII.GENERAL RULES FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS
